The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is the most important body representing people who work in logistics and transport in the UK. It has over 33,000 members in over 100 countries.

The CILT accreditation recognises the scope and professional and academic standards of the programme, especially in logistics and supply-chain subjects, but also in more general consultancy, analytic and management areas of expertise.

Accreditation also means that graduates of the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management are exempt from the academic requirements of Chartered Membership of the Institute (CMILT), which they can then achieve by completing the required number of years' industrial experience.

Many graduates of the programme have gone on to successful careers in logistics and supply chain management, but this professional recognition provides an additional structure and more transferrable basis for career development. CILT is based in the UK, but widely recognised in other countries.
