A LUMS Professor of Entrepreneurship has been invited to join a new initiative.
Professor Nigel Lockett, Associate Dean for Engagement and Professor of Entrepreneurship, has joined the Innovation Caucus - a project funded by Innovate UK and the Economic and Social Research Council.
Innovation Caucus’ primary objective is to promote knowledge exchange between social science researchers and Innovate UK with the aim of supporting the UK innovation ecosystem. Whether providing an overview of an issue, exploring different policy options or making recommendations about what works, the Innovation Caucus aims to grow engagement between the social sciences and Innovate UK as well as with other innovation stakeholders.
Professor Angus Laing, Dean at Lancaster University Management School, said: “It is imperative that social science scholars help government understand the complexity of innovation ecosystems. Professor Lockett’s invitation to join the Innovation Caucus acknowledges his significant contribution to understanding knowledge exchange between universities and industry and his work with the Small Business Charter to promote enterprise and innovation. He will be well placed to impact on innovation policies, programmes and practices.”
