Lancaster rises in World University Rankings

Lancaster University has risen 39 places to be ranked 121 in the QS World University Rankings.
In addition, Lancaster ranked 11th in the UK and 77th in the world for Social Sciences and Management.
In the subject rankings, Lancaster appeared in the top 100 for Accounting and Finance, Business and Management and Statistics and Operational Research.
3,539 universities were considered in the rankings and 891 evaluated for the list, published on the Top Universities website.
This year, Lancaster has been ranked in the UK Top 10 in the latest league tables from both the Guardian and the Complete University Guide.
The most recent is the Guardian University league tables 2016 where Lancaster has maintained its ranking of 10th out of 119 British universities.
In the Guardian subject tables Physics is ranked 2nd only to Oxford. Other top ten subjects are Accounting and Finance, Art, Biosciences, Drama and Dance, Chemical Engineering, History, Media and Film Studies and Social Work.
Earlier in the year Lancaster rose two places to be ranked 9th nationally out of 126 UK universities in TheCompleteUniversityGuide.co.uk for 2016, charging ahead of its Russell Group peers in the region.
14 of the 33 subjects Lancaster offers appear in the Complete University Guide subject rankings ‘top ten’, including Accounting and Finance, Business and Management Studies and Marketing.
