HR needs to ensure it retains its place at the heart of organisations – but what will this mean for how HR roles have to evolve? Professor Paul Sparrow from the Centre for Performance-led HR presented his perspective at a 'working breakfast' seminar organised by Career Moves.

The seminar was attended by HR Directors from a number of leading organisations, including Amazon, Condé Nast, NBC, Jamie Oliver Ltd, Tate & Lyle and Havas.

Professor Sparrow argued that if HR managers are willing to confront the challenges facing organisations ­– in areas such as customer-centricity, innovation, globalisation, lean management and social responsibility – HR can work across departments and become a real backbone for a company.
