The Kingsman Prize was established in memory of the long-standing scholar of Management Science, Professor Brian Kingsman. The 2022 prize has been awarded to PhD graduate Meng Jia.

Meng’s supervisor Professor Mark Stevenson has written the following citation:

"Meng Jia’s doctoral research investigated how sustainability-oriented supplier development initiatives are deployed in multi-tier supply chains, including the role of first-tier suppliers in disseminating knowledge to the upper tiers of supply chains and the role of non-traditional supply chain actors, such as third-party consultants, in dealing with sustainability challenges. Meng’s thesis was presented as a series of three papers, which have all been accepted for publication in international, peer-reviewed journals (2 x AJG4; 1 xAJG3). One of her papers was the recipient of an Emerald Literati Award."
