My Experience at LUMS
Posted on
Joining Lancaster University Management School was one of the best decisions I’ve made in life.
When I decided to study my MSc Human Resource Management in the UK, I tried to find schools that not just had good rankings in terms of the course and its management school, but also a holistic development. And LUMS for me was spot on!
LUMS has taught me so much in just the 1st term, that it amazes me how one year of it can change my entire professional life. The Management School has a schedule that does not only focus on your studies but also helps you build yourselves. We have lectures, exhibition/industrial visits, predominant speakers coming to let us know their practical experiences and classes that are not limited to just teaching but enable practical learning.
As a part of my course, I have been to the CIPD exhibition, read a variety of literature relating to HRM, had an opportunity to analyse through practical case studies and try and find real-time solutions for them. The course is well structured and every term is connected to the other. We have sessions helping us brainstorm research and dissertation ideas beginning at the start of the year itself, this helps us stay uptight with the schedule and gives us ample time to find a topic we are genuinely interested in.
I’m happy to share that I’m now a student ambassador for LUMS and a student blogger for Lancaster University. Lancaster University has already given me so much in such a short time and I trust there is so much more to come.
Studying here has taught me how much fun it is to meet people from different countries, understand and respect their cultures. The environment here is very diverse. You get to meet people from different backgrounds and interests, and I know I’m going to take back some friends for life.
I’m assured I’m going to make some great memories here, and this place will be a place to cherish forever.
