Why did you choose to study at LUMS?
Lancaster University ranked in the UK top 10. And besides the good reputation, I like the approach LUMS takes to my course. Before every term, we have one or two introduction and preparation weeks, which help students to study in a more smooth and convergent way. The facilities and services provided by LUMS also attracted me a lot. The complete career services such as Target Connect and career drop-in sessions made me feel at ease when I wrote my CV and made my career plan.
Why did you choose your particular programme?
My undergraduate major is BA(Hons) Accounting and Finance, and when I graduated I got exemption from nine out of fourteenth courses of ACCA. Also, with the internship experience in the banking industry, I felt more curiosity about the rules and structures of the finance industry which made me want to stick to the same major. Also, LUMS provides students the ACCA and CFA-related training courses, which fits in perfectly with my future career aims.
What are you enjoying most about your programme?
I like the competitive and energetic environment in LUMS. With the help of mentors and friends, I feel my life is well-organized and everything is undertaken in a smooth way even under the pressure of intensive coursework. LUMS provides students with lots of activities and services about future careers which help me a lot when I make my career plan and job applications. Our professors are highly qualified and full of experience in teaching. They are very kind and concerned about both our studying and normal daily life on campus.
Tell us about your best Lancaster moment so far.
Every progress for me is best, I feel positive change every single day, and every day is better than the previous day. A fulfilling life and proactive attitude is my best reward in LUMS.
What are your plans after graduating from LUMS?
After finishing my MSc from LUMS, I plan to have a gap year to have some working experience before applying for a PhD programme for further study. I am also preparing for the CFA Level 1 examination this year which I believe will help me to boost my future career when I apply for an internship and apply for full time jobs after PhD study.
