Why did you choose to study at LUMS?

LUMS stood out to me for its excellent global reputation and top professors. I liked that Lancaster is a campus university where everything is conveniently located in one place and that it has a collegiate system and a large international community, which I think creates a vibrant and diverse atmosphere. Additionally, I felt that Lancaster’s location in the north-west of England would give me easy access to local areas of natural beauty and bigger cities like Manchester and Liverpool, making it the perfect choice for me.

What was the best thing about your course?

I really liked that the Management Master's course offered a broad spectrum of courses, which meant that I could develop a range of key skills and management techniques to prepare myself for my future career. The courses were highly interactive, and they created some really valuable and engaging practical learning experiences. I found the programme to be extremely efficient, teaching a large amount of content in a short period of time. The combination of diverse coursework and interactive learning made LUMS the perfect choice for my advanced studies.

What/who inspired you most at LUMS and why?

Director Dr. Ruilin Zhu inspired me the most. I admired his dedication to providing students with constant opportunities for growth, such as the chance to write a Master's thesis in cooperation with companies or participate in real-life consulting projects. I found this truly motivating. Additionally, he organised fantastic events and brought in high-quality guest lecturers who shared practical experiences from various fields, greatly enriching our learning experience and helping us to develop our global professional networks.

Did you do a project, placement or study abroad? What did this involve and what did you gain?

During my Master's, I had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of St. Gallen, which is renowned for its excellence in management. This experience was invaluable, and I formed lifelong friendships and expanded my professional network while learning at another top-tier institution.

What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?

One of the best experiences was living on campus with my best friends. I was always surrounded by great people, making it easy to make new friends to do fun activities with and create unforgettable memories together.

What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?

Living in Lancaster was amazing due to its proximity to Manchester and the beautiful Lake District. It offered the perfect blend of city life and stunning nature.

What impact did scholarships or funding have on your degree experience?

The partnership scholarship made the choice of studying at Lancaster easier.

Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?

The broad variety of practical exercises as well as the experience of working with other students in small cross-functional teams!

What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?

Lancaster prepared me to truly solve dynamic problems strategically and thoughtfully and to work together with other colleagues in international contexts.

Is there anything else about your LUMS experience that you'd like to share?

I would choose Lancaster again!
