This summer I was lucky enough to be selected to take part in the International Summer School Programme in Guangzhou, China. Before going I had a few ideas about what China and the Summer School would be like but upon arrival it became clear to me that these expectations would be surpassed.

My first impressions of Guangzhou were simply that of amazement at the scale of the infrastructure, the friendliness of the locals and of course the dramatic difference in temperature from that of the UK.

As the trip continued I was able gain new experiences such as, meeting a monk, feeding a baby white tiger, making friends from all over the world, dancing with over one hundred locals, visiting temples with natural waterfalls, visiting large companies and learning about how Chinese businesses operate in various business areas to create the vast infrastructure that Guangzhou is famous for.

I feel that from this trip I have gained an insight into both Chinese culture and business from both the informative lecturers and the locals themselves.

The trip was so insightful that I would jump at the chance to do it all over again and would strongly recommend the trip to anyone considering it.
