Peggy Wu
Country of origin: China
Placement: Latitude Digital Marketing
Peggy completed a year-long placement with Latitude Digital Marketing in Warrington.
I worked within the PPC Quality Assurance Team and was mainly responsible for weekly search engine reporting and campaigns auditing – ensuring all the client accounts are upholding the company and industry ‘best practices’ and standards. Occasionally, I had some ad hoc tasks to complete, such as competitor snapshots, ads translation, URL checks and ad text editing.
The role enabled me to develop various transferable skills, including team working, time management and organisational skills, and has deepened my industry knowledge which will be beneficial for my future career.
One of the highlights of the placement was the social side of the organisation. The company is always dedicated to giving back to the community and we had all sorts of fund-raising events – for instance, cake-selling, ‘Pancake Day’, raffle ticket draw, dress-down day, and aerobics sessions on a regular basis.
Another significant event was the Summer Party. The theme of the party was the ‘Olympic Games’ and we were divided into different teams as if we were representing different countries and had to compete with other teams in different sports events. It was indeed a wonderful team-building day and a nice opportunity for people to mix and mingle around and get to know people from other teams.
Another area I enjoyed the most was the workplace culture and the friendliness of my colleagues. It is a workplace full of rich cultural diversity, innovation and energy. Moreover, it is a place with no corporate hierarchy, ideas are shared, and your contribution is always valued and recognised. In addition, we had an award scheme named ‘Everyday Hero’ to reward people who have exceeded their own boundaries and make an extra effort to exceed sales targets.
Overall, I enjoyed the placement very much. It is not just a work experience, but an opportunity for learning, personal development and growth.
