Why did you choose to study at LUMS?
I felt very welcomed when visiting, loved the history and culture of the city and wanted a top-ranking university for my degree choice.

What was the best thing about your course?

I would say the flexibility to select some modules outside of my chosen degree scheme, offering more of a diversified learning experience.

Describe your time at LUMS in three words:
Challenging, motivating, memorable.

What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?
The northern people, the history of the city, the town-like nature of the city and the rural landscapes.

What impact did scholarships/funding have on your degree experience?

Funding really enabled me to complete my degree. The university bursary alongside the government funding meant this was not a heavy, long-term financial burden and my husband and I felt it was a feasible option.

What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?

The careers advice service really had a good impact on my career. At this point, with three young children and a fourth due in a few months, the careers advisor gave me some excellent advice to help me get started with seeking flexible work from home, in line with my skills, experience and upcoming degree qualification, which has given me the confidence I need to apply for less formal work and be sure I can maintain a level of work experience, sufficient for facilitating a future transition into full-time formal work, when family commitments are less.
