Student Ambassador for MSc Advanced Marketing Management, from China

Why did you choose to study at LUMS?

The renowned Marketing department strongly caught my attention when decided to apply for this AMM programme. Its triple accreditations really reflect its worldwide recognitions and research excellence. Being one of the largest in the UK, its enriched academic research sophisticatedly provides me with advanced research topics in marketing studies and differentiated courses. It is also because LUMS gives students extra opportunities including Study Abroad and company-based summer projects which allow us to enrich our experience at LUMS.

Why did you choose your programme?

I grasped a fundamental understanding of Marketing through my undergraduate degree. Compared with Marketing programmes given by other universities, the MSc Advanced Marketing Management programme provides me with a unique course design, and some courses, for example, business model, service network, really attracted my attention because I am really interested in how marketing and innovation are linked together on a service platform.

What are you enjoying most about your programme?

I really enjoy the flexible choices of the dissertation, because it will give me true opportunity to research something I am really interested in as well as to equip myself with some particular skill which I can directly transfer into my future work. For example, I believe the opportunity to work with a company project in the summer will enhance my insights of gaining practical consulting skills in the marketing sector by solving a real-life marketing challenges.

Tell us about your best Lancaster moment so far.

There have been many great moments from the beginning of my journey at Lancaster University. The best moment I have had so far is the leadership training day organized by the AMM programme.  It is great to learn from your peers and mutually share different opinions together.

What are your plans after graduating?

I've decided to volunteer abroad in Fiji for a few months, travel around Europe, and also aim to find a job focusing on ‘brands and branding’ in particular.
