I chose to study at LUMS because I liked the fact that there were only a limited number of students on the course, and when I went to the open day I realised that I very much liked the University as a place itself as well.
I enjoyed the group projects most, especially the real-life project with an actual client in the third year because I felt as though my research had a real purpose.
I was a course rep for marketing in my first year and I was involved in the Amnesty International Society in my second year. Throughout the second and third years, I was the Bookings Officer of the Equestrian Club. I also successfully took part in the Lancaster Award scheme, which encourages students to get involved in activities outside the confines of their programme of study.
I didn’t do an internship as part of my degree, but I did a three-month internship in SEO and online marketing during the summer holidays.
My time at Lancaster was probably the most challenging, but at the same time the most enjoyable experience of my life. My advice to new students would be to make the most of all the opportunities – both in terms of career advice as well as all the societies and clubs available.
After the summer I will do a pre-masters course followed by a Masters degree in International Business and Management at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
