Emily Williams
Country of origin: United Kingdom
Placement: Fujitsu
Emily worked as a marketing assistant for Fujitsu during her placement year.
I worked in the Defence and National Security Business Unit in Fujitsu, primarily focusing on Marketing, but I also had the opportunity to work in Communications and HR.
My role gave me great responsibility; I organised a charity event within the first few months of my placement, which the CEO and COO of Fujitsu attended, and raised over £2,000.
Every day was different, and each week I was working on different events, and getting involved in various employee engagement and enablement initiatives. Another highlight of my placement was helping to organise and run Fujitsu’s 15th Annual Reception. This was a drinks reception held in Whitehall for senior Defence and National Security contacts, such as the Chief of Defence Staff. This was a great opportunity to interact with the most senior military personnel, as well as those at director level within Fujitsu. The event received high praises from all who attended, and was said to be the best yet!
The responsibility and variety in my role, along with support from management, made this a great placement, and one I highly recommend.
