Why did you choose to study at LUMS?
LUMS offered so many opportunities that I could see myself being part of, and I am so glad I took every opportunity. The partnerships with big companies and the alumni network are so valuable which made it even more appealing. Alongside this, the career support offered is second to none with support from the day you start to even now having graduated.
What was the best thing about your course?
The lecturers and the people - the course content was interesting but what made my experience was the people I got to learn from and people I was able to work with.
What/who inspired you most at LUMS and why?
The atmosphere in LUMS made it an environment I enjoyed working in. I was inspired by other students.
Did you do a project, placement or study abroad? What did this involve and what did you gain?
I did a summer internship at the London Stock Exchange Group and could not recommend it enough. I am now on the graduate scheme here because of that internship and had the best summer gaining experience and a new network. I would definitely recommend a summer internship to those who, like me, would not want to spend a year away from studies. It was insightful and the application process was fully supported by LUMS. I gained a new network and knowledge - university learning is valuable but work experience on your CV is key. I was grateful to LUMS who helped with interview practice and CV checks throughout the whole process.
Describe your time at LUMS in three words.
Hard work, Insightful, Fun.
What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?
I was part of my college netball team (ended up club captain by my third year) and it made my university experience 10,000 times better. I met the best group of people and I am so grateful for the skills I learned there - both on the court and off.
What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?
Aside from the town and legendary nights in Sugar, the ability to go to the Lake District was always a plus.
Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?
The careers module that was part of my degree was so helpful and insightful for my application and prep for my job.
What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?
I am now a more confident person and I feel prepared for anything that comes my way.
