Why did you choose to study at LUMS?

I loved the course structure and the modules offered by the university. It is highly reputed and top ranked for my course as well so that inspired me to study at LUMS.

What was the best thing about your course?

The opportunity work on a client based project as a part of my dissertation was the best thing about the course. It gave me exposure to the real world and I got an opportunity to communicate with key stakeholders in the business to understand their needs and work accordingly.

What/Who inspired you the most at LUMS and why?

My supervisor, John Boylan inspired me the most. It was my pleasure to work under him during my dissertation. His knowledge and subject matter experience is vast and invaluable and this was reflected in his lectures as well as guidance that I received during my dissertation. He always motivated me to push harder and give my best.

Life-changing, hands-on, inspiring.

What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?

I think my best memories are related to my coursework. Ensuring to complete the coursework on time was definitely a challenge but was very hands on and led to a steep learning curve which I will always cherish. Lancaster University not only taught me skills and lessons related to Analytics but it also taught me how to remain calm in stressful situations and work to my full potential.

What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?

Its safe. Campus is quite lively and I found a group of nice friends so I had a great time in Lancaster.

What impact did scholarships or funding have on your degree experience?

Scholarships helped me monetarily to some extent. It made me feel good about my past achievements and motivated me to work harder to excel in the course.

Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?

The module 'Analytics in Practice' was by far the most hands-on module as it involved dealing with a third party client. It taught me a lot and was helpful for a smooth transition into the corporate world. It made me realise that real world problems are quite complex and we often need to think out of the box to solve them. The course helped me enrich my skill set and gave me the confidence to apply these to solve real world business problems.

What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?

I believe a course from such a reputed university has boosted my CV a lot and helped me get a job as well.
