The College Support team should be the first port of call if you are experiencing difficulties. Support is available in relation to your studies, personal challenges, homesickness, health problems, money concerns or any other issues. We are available to provide help and guidance throughout your time at Lancaster, from arrival to the point that you graduate. No issue is too big or small. How we can help
Benjamin (Senior Advisor), Ella (Deputy), Elle, Liz, Tom, Lucy, Richard and Alison make up our welfare team (Lonsdale CAT) and they provide pastoral support to students within the college.
The team respond to queries between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays and University closure dates) and help is available for all types of difficulties. No issues are too big or too small, so If you need someone to talk to then please do get in touch via lonsdalewelfare@lancaster.ac.uk
Ella also acts as the Lonsdale International Student and Events Coordinator. If you are interested in the Lonsdale buddy scheme and would perhaps like to be paired with an existing student please get in touch via lonsdalebuddies@lancaster.ac.uk
Remember - Support is not just available when things go wrong, the team are involved in various welfare events throughout the year, so please feel free to get involved.
Out of hours support
- College Porters – Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during term-time. Lonsdale Porters can be reached on 01524 592250, or visit the Porters Lodge.
- Medical Attention (non-emergency) - 111 (24/7 support available).
- Medical Emergencies including mental health crisis – College Porters or Main Security 01524 594541. Our trained staff can provide first aid and will contact the emergency services if needed.
- Lancashire Care Wellbeing and Mental Health - Call free 0800 915 4640 or text 'Hello' to 07860 022 846. Available Monday to Friday 7pm-11pm, Saturday and Sunday 12 noon-12 midnight.
- Samaritans – Call free 116 123, confidential 24/7 advice and support.
