A recent study by Professor Christopher Hart published in Social Semiotics features in the PsyPost. The study investigated the forms and functions of pointing gestures in the spoken performance of Donald Trump. The study shows how the direction of pointing gestures correlates systematically with specific speech categories and how these gesture-speech combinations function in multimodal, embodied realisations of rhetorical strategies associated with right-wing populism. The PsyPost entry can be found here.
