This session will introduce students to the concept of evaluating and assessing information. It will help students to identify good quality academic material and make considered judgements about the information they need and use.
By the end of this session students/researchers should be able to:
-
Assess the quality, accuracy, relevance, bias and credibility of the information they use
-
Be able to identify good sources of academic information
-
Be familiar with and understand academic terms such as peer reviewed and scholarly communication
-
Make considered value judgements about the information they need and use
-
