Opened by Professor Simon Guy, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global, Digital and Sustainability, this event will provide an introduction to the platform followed by presentations from research teams that have partnered with the Library to establish digital collections (see registration form for further details).

Simon will be joined by Anna Cockman (Head of Estate Development, project delivery), Professor Jo Knight (Chair in Applied Data Science), Professor Jess Davies (Professor of Sustainability) and Professor Paty Murrieta-Flores (Department of History). You can expect an evening of lively conversation across a range of themes from sustainability to data science, from eco-innovation to the digital humanities. Our guests will share some of their projects and partnerships, including how the University is involved in Eden Project North.
It promises to be a great evening with live music performances from Leah Silva, Nina Jones, Daisy Barlow and Alice Ashcroft.

13:00 - 14:00 Davy Notebooks Project online transcribe-a-thon
Join the Davy Notebooks Project team for an online transcribe-a-thon. Over the course of this one-hour event, you'll hear more about the project from the team, have the opportunity to transcribe part of a Davy notebook, and be able to meet and discuss your work in real time with fellow transcribers.
No prior experience or preparation is necessary, and questions/discussion will, of course, be very warmly welcomed.

16.30 - 17.30 The Slavery Family Trees Community Research Project: Exploring Lancaster’s link to Transatlantic Slavery
Members of the Lancaster Black History community group will talk about the Slavery Family Trees project, sharing how schools, university students, voluntary organisations, community and faith groups from across the city have come together to produce and record community stories and learning that will allow local people to work together to face the past, and in doing so transform the future.
