This event is hosted by Lancaster University Confucius Institute.

Film 1: China to Siberia: Crossing the Loneliest Lake (35 mins)

After cycling across 16 countries on 3 continents and walking across Transcaucasia, Chinese ‘human-powered’ traveler, Xu Jiang Jun, and his Russian travel partner Fyodor Lebed, decided to traverse the frozen lake of Baikal in the late winter of 2017, pursuing the biggest goal in his traveling career. During his 23 day journey in the Siberian wilderness, Xu Jiang Jun’s camera became his closest friend as he recorded the ups and downs of the hardships in front of him.

Film 2: Walking On Ice (30 mins)

In 2018, Mu Ye and the team ventured deep into the mysterious Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon with a plan to set up a highline crossing the canyon, spanning the Yarlung Tsangpo River. However, due to glacial collapse caused by climate change, the canyon turned into a disaster area and became inaccessible.

In 2019, the team returned to the canyon and successfully completed the crossing, witnessing the devastating aftermath of the disaster, which further sparked Mu Ye's concern for glaciers. In 2023, the team plans to embark on a series of glacier exploration activities in the world's largest mountainous glaciers. Conducting wildlife surveys, paragliding, ice climbing, and highlining, Mu Ye will unveil the mysteries of this region and showcase the grandeur and vulnerability of these vast glaciers to the audience.

Film 3: SKI7 Sail & Ski in Arctic (15 mins)

In late April 2024, Billy Blanc, Captain Fox, and Frank, after completing their Antarctic ski touring trip in 2023, decided to head north to Norway's Lyngen Fjord in the Arctic Circle to try something new—sail-to-ski adventures, a style rarely recorded by Chinese skiers. Along the way, they teamed up with KAI, an international IFMGA mountain guide from the U.S., and Stain aka Captain Crocs, who’s known for always wearing Crocs when sailing. Over the course of a week, they documented this unique way of skiing, leaving their mark on the global ski scene and inspiring more Chinese skiers to explore the world's snow-covered peaks.
