Dr Johanna Pihlblad
Senior Research Associate in Riparian Zone ModellingProfile
I am a Soil Biogeochemist and Earth Scientist interested in the carbon nitrogen and phosphorus cycles and their interconnectivity across different climates and soil types. In Lancaster I’m working on process-based model solutions for riparian zones within the UKRI project ‘Change at the Riparian Reactive Interface’ (CARRI) and the riparian zone response to a changing climate.
I specialise on ecosystem responses to climate change through plant-soil interactions and nutrient release pathways examined through field trials, laboratory experiments, process-based modelling and geospatial analysis. I seek collaborations where interdisciplinary research can reach new knowledge in this field.
