Dr Dawn Worrall
Research TechnicianResearch Overview
I work in the photosynthesis group with Elizabete Carmo-Silva and Martin Parry. We aim to further understand the process of photosynthesis so that we can increase efficiency of carbon dioxide assimilation and therefore improve plant yield.
I have worked in LEC for a number of years and past research has centred around plant biotic and abiotic stress responses with particular focus on regulation and signalling at the molecular level. I have been employed on DEFRA and BBSRC funded projects studying the efficacy and molecular and biochemical processes underpinning the phenomenon of seed priming. I have also investigated plant responses to ozone and the role of the annexin1 protein in the calcium mediated signalling events.
