Research Overview

I am currently pursuing a PhD at Lancaster University LEC REEFS, studying the effectiveness of devolved governance of coral reef fisheries in Kenya and its potential for future management. I aim to explore community-based management strategies for coral fisheries using a grassroots approach to assess ecological and social impacts. Prior to this, I obtained an MSc in Marine Ecosystem Management from the University of St Andrews. I gained extensive knowledge of marine conservation and management's ecological, social, and economic aspects. I possess extensive fieldwork and lab skills, including scientific diving and surveying, intertidal surveys, chromatography, diatom identification, chlorophyll analysis, and statistical analysis using R software. My career goal is to work in marine policy and protected areas to contribute to protecting and restoring marine ecosystems.
