Journals

At Lancaster Environment Centre we host or lead a number of important academic journals. These cover a range of different disciplines across the environmental and biological sciences.

  • Environmental International

Environment International covers all disciplines engaged in the field of environmental research. It seeks to quantify the impact of contaminants in the human environment and to address human impacts on the natural environment itself. 2015 Impact Factor: 5.93

  • Environmental Technology and Innovation

This new journal will focus on a challenge-oriented approach to solutions that will bring together excellent natural sciences, which underpin the development and application of technologies, to understand and deliver a sustainable future.

  • New Phytologist

New Phytologist, owned by the not-for-profit New Phytologist Foundation, offers rapid publication of high quality, original research in plant science. Falling within four sections – Physiology & Development, Environment, Interaction and Evolution – articles cover topics that range from intracellular processes through to global environmental change. 2021 Impact Factor: 10.32.

  • Journal of Experimental Botany

Journal of Experimental Botany aims to publish the highest quality manuscripts that address questions of broad interest in plant biology and welcome manuscripts that identify fundamental mechanisms including those underpinning the improvements of plant for the sustainable production of food, fuel, and renewable materials. 2017 Impact Factor: 5.830.

  • Plants, People, Planet

Plants, People, Planet is a cross-disciplinary Open Access journal, owned by the not-for-profit New Phytologist Foundation. It focuses on the interface between plants and society. 2021 Impact Factor: 5.69.

  • Journal of Animal Ecology

Journal of Animal Ecology publishes the best animal ecology research that develops, tests and advances broad ecological principles.

  • In Silico Plants

In Silico Plants is an open-access journal dealing with all aspects of computational plant science. It provides a home for work from currently disparate research areas, publishing research at the interface between mathematics, computer science and plant biology.

  • Food and Energy Security

Food and Energy Security seeks to publish high quality and high impact original research on agricultural crop and forest productivity to improve food and energy security. It actively seeks submissions from emerging countries with expanding agricultural research communities.
