The Lancaster International Lecture Series is an exciting collaboration between the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at Lancaster University and Litfest (Lancaster Literature Festival), giving a platform to leading voices from history, environment and literature as they focus on the pressing issues that shape our world.

Each year, the series features:

  • The Lancaster History Lecture
  • The Lancaster Environment Lecture
  • The Lancaster International Fiction Lecture

Live in person, live-streamed and accessible online, these lectures and Q&As create an inclusive platform for civic and intellectual engagement, offering diverse perspectives and stimulating discussion.

Booker Prize author to give Lancaster International Fiction Lecture

This year’s International Booker Prize winner Georgi Gospodinov will present the third Lancaster International Fiction Lecture, a joint online venture between Lancaster’s Litfest and the University’s Department of Languages & Cultures and the Department of English Literature & Creative Writing.

Lancaster University and Litfest announce new annual international fiction lecture

The first ever ‘Lancaster International Fiction Lecture’, a joint initiative by Lancaster University and Litfest, one of the oldest literature festivals in the country, will be delivered by highly acclaimed Colombian author Juan Gabriel Vásquez.
