We are thrilled to announce that first-year History student Phoebe Teasdale has won one of the Fulbright Program’s highly competitive Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) awards. Phoebe will represent the UK as part of a group of 20 award-winning undergraduates from across Europe on the SUSI programme on environmental issues.

The scheme, which is hosted by Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, in partnership with the Meridian International Center and the US Department of State, provides participants with an overview of climate change along with its impact on communities in America, natural resources, and the local economy.

Phoebe will spend five weeks in the United States this summer visiting Washington DC, completing a four-week academic residency at Shippensburg University and then finally taking a study tour of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

‘I’ve always had a passion for sustainability and the environment’, said Phoebe, ‘words can’t express how excited I am for this opportunity.’
