Event Details

A full-day Study Event looking at developments in the field of archaeology in the North West. This event features live presentations and an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers. It will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person (details provided to those who register).

Speakers include Frank Giecco and Dr Matthew Hobson (Wardell Armstrong) on recent Roman finds in Carlisle; Dr Sophie-Therese Ambler (Lancaster University) and Dr Jim Morris (University of Central Lancashire) on investigations of medieval Lowther Castle and village; Dr Pauline Clarke (Finds Liaison Officer) on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database and recent finds in Lancashire plus Fraser Brown (Oxford Archaeology North) with a look at prehistoric migration at Mesolithic sites including Windy Harbour and more. Sessions will be chaired by Dr Eleri Cousins (Lancaster University) and the ticket price includes coffee/tea/biscuit breaks in both the morning and afternoon.
