Together an Active Future is a Sport England funded programme that is currently being delivered in Pennine Lancashire. Our team at Lancaster University, led by Professor Carol Holland, has been commissioned to evaluate the pilot project.
The Together an Active Future programme began from the idea that no individual lives in isolation - everyone is connected to a place and its community, each with its own unique structure, relationships and geography.
Sport England wants to understand how local identities and structures can be leveraged to deliver sustainable increases in activity levels. To do this, they set up 12 pilots projects around the country including the one in Lancashire. It’s a new way of working and evaluating the process and results is a critical part of the work.
The evaluation was a 2 year project that began in October 2019, focusing on three areas: Process, Life Course and Quantitative, led by Dr Claire Hardy, Dr Sandra Varey and Dr Theo Bampouras respectively.
This page details the key findings and outputs from the evaluation.
