This is an initial seed meeting for the Queer Medical Humanities Network, which was set up and is led by Dr Benjamin Dalton (Lecturer in French Studies, Department of Languages and Cultures). The event, which is supported by funding from the FASS Health Hub, brings together researchers at the intersections of queer studies and the medical humilities. We will be exploring questions such as:
- How can we facilitate dialogues between the medical humanities, critical health humanities, and queer studies?
- How might interdisciplinary and collaborative research in the queer medical humanities improve healthcare for LGBTQIA+ patients?
The event will feature mini-presentations by researchers, workshops for getting to know each other and think about collaborations, and a meeting to discuss future directions for the Network.
