I qualified as a doctor in 2004, and previously held NIHR academic foundation and clinical fellow posts, the latter of which was based in Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London. After a period away from research, I was inspired by first-hand experience of electronic patient record implementation to return to academia and investigate how electronic records are shaping the way that medical work is done.
