Event Details
This event invites you to hear about the work being done in response to catastrophic climate change, and provides a space for academics, students, community leaders, charities and policy makers to come up with innovative solutions in the face of environmental challenges.
This symposium is a collaboration between Abaseen Foundation and Lancaster University. Abaseen Foundation have over 25 years of experience in supporting vulnerable communities living in rural Northwest Pakistan, with multiple research projects in the area of nutrition, cognition, education, poverty and health inequality.

Dr Mukhtiar Zaman is a founder member and Chief Executive of Abaseen Foundation PK. He is a doctor by profession. Following retirement from the Government Civil Service BPS – 21, he currently works as the Principal of Rehman Medical College Peshawar. Nicola Lowe is Professor of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Central Lancashire, and Director of the Research Centre for Global Development. She is a Trustee and Research Lead for the Abaseen Foundation. Under Nicola’s direction, The Abaseen Foundation is undertaking several nutrition and health research and development projects in partnership with the community members and academic researchers from Pakistan and the UK.
