José Vicente Taticuan, originally from Ipiales, Nariño, left home at the age of 11 to work in Medellín. He later returned to Nariño, and after meeting his wife, moved to Cali in search of better opportunities. They initially lived in Meléndez before moving to Pampas del Mirador, a neighbourhood he helped develop. Over the years, José worked in construction, contributing to the building of homes and infrastructure in the area.

José and his wife also played a key role in community efforts, such as providing meals for others during the pandemic. He is deeply concerned about the challenges facing the youth in his neighbourhood, particularly the prevalence of crime and the lack of job opportunities. Despite these struggles, José values the strong sense of community, where neighbours support each other. His journey reflects both the personal and collective efforts to overcome challenges and build a better future.
