GREAT

1. Absalon Sabogal

Absalon Sabogal’s “Sembrando Palabras” project integrates environmental education with literacy to foster sustainability and community empowerment. Central to the project is an organic garden where participants of all ages learn to grow poison-free food, recycle materials, and compost organic waste. Absalon collaborates with local schools, such as Magdalena Ortega and Minute de Dios, engaging students and teachers in hands-on activities that promote sustainable practices and collective learning.  By combining agriculture with reading and writing, the initiative seeks to cultivate an environmentally conscious, self-sustaining society that values organic practices, literacy, and community-driven development.
