A team of 36 Lancaster University students have raised vital funds for The Lancaster University Opportunity Fund.

A dedicated team of student fundraisers have been contacting our alumni community as part of Lancaster’s annual telephone fundraising campaign. The money raised will go straight to The Lancaster University Opportunity Fund which supports the future of our students by helping them access a top-quality education, regardless of their financial background.

Through this initiative, student fundraisers are not only raising vital funds for Lancaster University but are also creating meaningful connections with alumni. Each call offers an opportunity for alumni to engage in conversations, share career advice, and for students to expand their professional networks. For many students, this interaction can provide invaluable guidance as they prepare for the next stage in their lives.

The campaign represents a unique chance for our alumni to give back to the university and have a direct impact on current students’ experiences. It also enables alumni to reconnect with the university community and see how their contributions are helping shape the next generation of leaders and innovators, creating a university environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and no one is disadvantaged because of who they are.

This year’s telephone fundraising campaign, has raised over £151,000 and our students have spoken to 1,142 alumni. We encourage our alumni to take this opportunity to share their expertise, support our students, and be part of a lasting legacy that empowers the next generation to thrive.
