9 College Event - Lancaster Castle Tour - Tuesday 3 October and Thursday 5 October.
If you fancy a quieter night out, there will be guided tours around the North-West's most significant historic monument, Lancaster Castle. With origins dating all the way back to the Romans, this fascinating building founded in 1093 has been a centre for local justice for over 800 years.
Knowledgeable and friendly tour guides will take you through the courtyard and into the building where you will be surrounded by one of the country's oldest and most iconic courtrooms: The Shire Hall. Hear tales of witchcraft, religious persecution, crime & punishment, and dare to be locked inside one of the dark prison cells.
Meet at the Castle Gates at 5:30pm for the tour to commence at 6pm. Tours will last for approximately 60-75 minutes.
Unfortunately, the tour route is not suitable for wheelchairs. Students with limited mobility are asked to please call ahead to speak directly to a tour guide on 01524 64998. Alternatively find further access information here Contact | Lancaster Castle : Lancaster Castle
