Join us on Tuesday 25th March for a FREE self-guided trip to Grizedale Forest in the Lake District! We will be approaching Grizedale forest via the Furness peninsula, travelling through Greenodd and Colton!

Going for a walk is a simple step towards improving overall health. Walking keeps our bodies and minds healthy, giving us a breather from the stresses of daily life and a space to gather our thoughts. Exploring open countryside brings us closer to nature and there's increasing evidence that walking in nature is an important approach to improved mental health and general well-being, so join us and explore the fantastic forests and all that the area has to offer.

We do want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable visit, so before booking onto this self-guided excursion we suggest doing some research surrounding activities to do, things to see and most importantly what to wear etc. If you wish, you can independently book on to some paid activities, such as hiring a bike, Segway, Go-Ape. If you would like to join us, we suggest you secure your place as quickly as possible to avoid any disappointment, as we have very limited space. This trip is open to Furness College Undergraduates only. The Online Store closed on 11.59pm on Friday 14 March 2025, or earlier if we sell out.

Itinerary | Tuesday 25 March 2025

09.45 (prompt) - Please make sure you are ready in good time for the coach, we suggest at least 10 minutes prior to departure from the perimeter road, just by the Furness residence blocks. Please have your Online Store receipt notification, ready to sign on before boarding the coach.

10:00 - Coach will leave campus and travel to Grizedale forest.

15:45 - Return to coach.

16:00 - Leave Grizedale forest to return to campus.
