Designed at the CFPR at the University of the West of England (UWE), the multifaceted cabinet invites visitors to engage with artworks produced using traditional and digital print technologies, all created by artists working in the CFPR Editions publishing studio. The studio focuses on new and emerging print technologies and novel materials in the field of printmaking. The printmakers featured include Rodrigo Arteaga, Navid Azimi Sajadi, Tracey Bush, Helen Carnac, Alice Kettle and Carinna Parraman, Chuck Elliot, Tracy Hill, Cecilia Mandrile, Lucrecia Urbano, Alicia Paz, James Rogers, Matt Smith.
As CFPR Director, Professor Carinna Parraman says, ‘This is no ordinary print exhibition. Alongside intricate prints based on 3D scans and made using digital laser cutting technologies, visitors will discover printed graphene with the possibility to conduct energy. The artworks are intended as points of departure, and we encourage people to weave their own stories into them. The cabinet taps into our understanding of materiality, the urge to collect and the power of the visual as a means of creating and sharing narratives.’
