Lancaster Aspire

Lancaster Aspire is a new system used by the University to pay funds out to relevant parties into a UK bank account. Both students and non-students (e.g. research participants) can be nominated to receive funds via Lancaster Aspire.

Setting up your account

After initially being nominated to receive funds a welcome email will be sent to beneficiaries asking them to set up an account. The process to do this is different for Students/Staff and external beneficiaries.

Students/Staff

The email will contain a link which you can use to set up your account. In order to log in you simply need to use your Lancaster University login credentials (username/password). The link referenced in the email can also be accesssed by clicking here

Please note, you can only use this service if you have been nominated to receive funds.

External Beneficiaries

The email you will receive has a unique username and password to allow you to access Aspire via the link in the email. Please note that you must use the link in the email to access the system.

Receiving funds

When funds have been awarded to you they are loading credited to your account in Aspire and you will receive an email with instructions on how to retrieve the funds. Information on how to receive funds can be found here.

The most effective way to collect your funds is via a mobile device that has your banking apps installed. This allows you to transfer funds to your bank account using open banking technology, meaning there is no need to provide your bank account details. Other methods are available though if you do not use banking apps.

At no point in the process are your bank account details stored by Lancaster or the Aspire System.
