The painting of Saint John the Baptist and other Saints by Cima da Conegliano is at the first altar on the right in the Church of Madonna dell'Orto in the Cannaregio area of Venice. At Works, 21.16 Ruskin quotes it as 'an example of perfect delineation by the school of colour', and at Works, 20.141 he refers to its 'deep joy in light of sky, and fruit and flower and weed of earth'. At Works, 21.105, Ruskin points out that Cima's name saint was St. John the Baptist, someone only Cima can draw according to Ruskin.
