There are several vignettes illustrating 'The Voyage of Columbus' in Rogers's Poems. Sunrise seems to be depicted in The Landing of Columbus, but the sky does not correspond with Ruskin 's description. it seems most likely therefore that Ruskin here refers to Land Discovered by Columbus, even though this has usually been understood (incorrectly) to be depicting evening.
J.M.W. Turner 1775-1851

Further Comments: In the drawing the figure of the man is facing the onlooker, however in the engraving, the man (Columbus) is looking out to sea. This image was published as the head-piece to Canto 8 of 'The Voyage of Columbus' in Rogers's 'Poems', and is otherwise known as 'Land Discovered by Columbus'.
