[NB.64L] [NB.64] 64 Continued Vicenza from page 59. det between twolovery tall windows with lighter pil heads on the side of a house near the [river?] - are a remarkably [effective ?] group - another noble house in a street branching off the main one towards the north: the next street west of Sta Corona, has its Gothic windows broken in upon old pure Lombard brickwork - of which I drew a fragment in 46. and of which the door or gate with [diagram] chain pattern - round just like some at Venice is still left - harmonizing very perfectly with the Gothic. The memorandum at p 59 shows the peculiar bouquet like crockets quite different from any in Venice: but coming well into the luxuriant manner of the rest: and between all the windows - instead of plain marble tondi, are luxuriant renaissance roses. usually within cables - much like our common roof roses: and very florid & well cut:
