These however are pure classical leaves
of exquisite roll: the way they steal out
to the edges of the soffit is seen in
the profile. a. on next page their general
position is seen: and the placing of
cusps on the excessively flat arch of
which they leave part unmodified, thus
producing a flattened or rather flat
headed foils
There is        [diagram]
a fine sympathy in this with the classical
     ornament.
