The inner line is that of the bell itself, through the side whereon it is traceable The outer is the basket work, and the mass into which the lily is cut. a b is 2 " 0½ with about an inch concavity. b c 3½ nearly horiz[izi]ontal. The capital of shaft B. p 180 is about an inch less high in the bell, and loses another inch on the closer joint Its serpentine block is 1 " 2 deep and one side of it 3 " 6 and of its cornice (as at b p 2 1 ) 3 " 7 Now, on the top of the plinth b c (Canta shaft or A) the St M. p 2 bases of the five smaller shafts are arranged as at p 2 St M. The square basic p[f]linths being about 1 " 0 the side; and i inch truncation.
