[M2.95L] [M2.95] 95 [diagram] The 20th. With animals heads Daged. By far the loveliest of this series: Its breast leaves are wavy and varied and studied from nature: Under the fox is a flower of heavy blossomed grass; exquisitely finished, and under the weasel, the stem of the leaf is twisted and its edge laid most strangely and lightly over the flat fillet something as opp: Conf Palace p 18. The 23rd. The great leaves here are more elaborate and heavy and more classical i.e. less natural: The heads are fine; the best of the series: but evidently modern. It is a restored capital - I cannot say of what time - may be exceedingly recent. Its heads are the following:- 1. Latini: in a Beatrice Cenci cap, and loose hair 2. Tartari: in a cap with knob at top and loose hair. 3. Turchi: in the pointed cap worn by Arion. 4. Ongari: in conical cap: a fine head. 5. Greci: Injured. 6. Goti, a little heavy and German; in Arion’s cap with its point truncated. 7. Egicii 8. Persici The breast leaves are here very light and delicate - but poor - and alike all round quite a new type peculiar
