[M2.24L] [M2.24] 24 TOMBS at C. down to the point is the section of flower plinths round upper and lower arch and round sarcophagus; and below; of sarcophagus paved with gabled dentil The lions heads which carry sarcophagus bracket are the fine type of Dog palace vulgarized by a bad workman. They have the bristly ear, but are withered and door knockered E.G. book is section of niche. But the figures - especially the central bas relief are vile throughout, and above the lions or under Niches i.e. at d No 23 (holding doors not unlike Dog palace): there is the late bracket moulding, an important feature. The Sarcophagus small shaft capitals are like Steno’s. The whole thing is late - worked by a bad workman from earlier types. The red spaces between arches are rudely painted. The crockets above are detached spaces of stone barred and cemented on to plain archivolt and {utterly} vile in cutting. Those of the niches, each one small leaf with an outer rib on the angle of hexagonal pyramid. ______________ Note Transept here - explains Doge’s palace.
