                                                                      		Promise really is, and secondly, how far it will be fulfilled
                                                                      		when it is either Partially or Generally, instead
                                                                      		of wholly and definitely Claimed.
                                                                      		For the Believer in Christ may - and in ordinary cases
                                                                      		does - approach with a most indistinct idea of the Benefit
                                                                      		to be claimed;  He approaches knowing not what he asks,
                                                                      		except that it is a spiritual blessing:  His prayer is
                                                                      		My Lord:  Thou hast promised a blessing.  I know not what
                                                                      		Grant it me - to the Uttermost -Nevertheless, such prayers
                                                                      		are generally somewhat cold as they are indefinite,  We do
and those who would desire God’s blessing earnestly, would also seek to		not pray earnestly for what we have not conceived (x)
know inwhat it consisted.                                             		Another prayer is often "My lord, thou hast promised this
                                                                      		and this - now grant it me;   the claim being much within
                                                                      		the mark of the promise:  God may not perhaps bestow the
                                                                      		entire good of a promise when it is neither claimed nor
                                                                      		comprehended.

                                                                      		than Remission of Sins, to our children and grace to become
