                                                                      Door round [diagram] renaissance. Two earlier
                                                                      
                                                                      4ths  with common c sec. and later well formed
                                                                      B  P pils. The lower plinth carefully drawn
                                                                      of birds is all built in. some of it upside down.
                                                                      but at the end of it is a pretty ogee
                                                                      piscina as opp. in red marble.
                                                                         The middle . 1st  story is all renaissance
                                                                      about turn of Cornices of Pisani. with
                                                                      cinque cento capitals - set if I mistake not
                                                                      on earlier shafts.
                                                                        The camel and man stand on a later
                                                                       Pisani  renaissance plinth. & are themselves
                                                                        bad later work.
                                                                      Into the spandril of the round renaissance
                                                                       windows is built a beautiful Aquileian
                                                                       peacock -general effect of which at fig 2
                                                                        no 108
                                                                      Above. the balconies are carried on vilely
                                                                       cat cut lions supported themselves on brackets
                                                                      as in as 72. They carry a flower plinth
                                                                      continuous round balconies & walls. and
                                                                      and this is singularly flat and  [?] slovenly
                                                                      form of the later rose and leaf; better in
                                                                      effect - though no thanks to the carving
                                                                        than the undercut specimens. It is like
                                                                      one of the four plinths squeezed flat in
                                                                      a herbarium
                                                                      Of the balconies the central has cherubs
                                                                         heads between shafts - and singularly slender.
