                                                                      But there is a lovely variety in these.
                                                                      leaves so that they cannot be [?]
                                                                      nor are they any leaf in particular
                                                                       - for the stem of the rose which is
                                                                      		always double
                                                                      [drawing]	     springs with a
                                                                      		     seaweedy kind of
                                                                      		  structure out of
                                                                      		 the leaf & yet is
                                                                      		felt under it
                                                                      		afterwards. Thus
