[GB.11L] [GB.11] 11 [drawing] a b [drawing] a b that the lower part of the leaf is a beautiful recess and the top of the lobe lower [?] ribbed as at St John and Paul; Section across the leaf while the plinth drawn on last page of lower cornice. has the ridge between leaves and rib all the way up. Compare [drawing] [diagram] b2 sections opp - and note that in the curled lobes of the larger [diagram] c leaves in upper plinth, the rib is shown in the recess, section b 2. but in the smaller leaves below recessed only .c. But there is a lovely variety in these. leaves so that they cannot be [?] nor are they any leaf in particular - for the stem of the rose which is always double [drawing] springs with a seaweedy kind of structure out of the leaf & yet is felt under it afterwards. Thus At the top of the monument this lower cornice occurs again Angels drawing back curtains . and [continues p.12]
