Treasury door St Mark’s. Notebook M2 p.72L Measures of No 139.
Howard places a photograph of the treasury entrance below one of the central part of the Porta dei Fiori - the fourth porch to the left (after the Northwest portico) of the Northwest façade of St Mark’s. The shape of both entrances are very similar. She makes the point that ‘The series of ‘Saracenic’ -looking portals inserted in the thirteenth century stand out as conspicuous orientalising elements in San Marco’ p.104. The treasury door is of course inside the basilica. See Howard (2000) p.104 - 5.
